LOW COST VETERINARY SERVICES

(917) 468-2938  www.nycacc.org/safetynet.htm

1) Animal Care & Control of New York City’s Safety Net Program offers an innovative service for pet guardians and their animals – low cost veterinary care, if you qualify, at participating vets throughout NYC. If your pet is coughing, sneezing, not eating, not urinating, not defecating, or not moving much, he/she might be sick. Vet care can often be very expensive. Our vets will treat your animals at a reduced cost. Please call us as soon as possible if you need suggested advice on whether it seems your pet needs to see a vet, and to request approval to see one of our low cost vets.

Ask us about our other low cost or free services to help you and your pet, including free or low cost spay/neuter services and vaccinations.

How to get low cost veterinary services:

    1) Call us at (917) 468-2938 to request approval to see one of our low cost vets or to get information

about low cost clinics in NYC. If approved, we will give you a  veterinarian’s contact information and we will discuss the approximate amount of money you will need to bring.

    2) You MUST make an APPOINTMENT before seeing one of the Safety Net vets. When you call the veterinarian, you must say that the Safety Net Programreferred you and you would like to make an appointment.

    3) If you already took your animal to another vet, you must get copies of the medical records, x-rays, etc. to the vet we refer you to, either by picking them up or having  them faxed from the original vet. X-rays must be picked up or emailed.

    4) When you arrive for your appointment, you MUST tell the clinic that the Safety Net Program referred you. This is very important so that you are charged the low cost prices.
