The Field Operations Division of AC&C responds to calls from the public and government agencies to maintain public safety and assist animals in need, in the five boroughs of New York City.
Between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday through Friday, telephone calls should be directed to 3-1-1. At other times 3-1-1 will direct emergency telephone calls to your local police precinct.
Field Operations staff responds to calls to pick up:
- animals that threaten the safety of the public
- stray or homeless animals,
- wildlife that is injured, ill or causing a threat to public health or safety.
AC&C Field Operations may, as scheduling permits, pick up owned animals being surrendered by their owners to AC&C. This service is provided, when available, for a fee.
